Huntington Beach, CA — Huntington Beach Ambassador Chris MacDonald has created his own stimulous package to help businsses rebound by offering local residents discounts on everything from restaurants, clothing, fishing trips, kites, sports cards and haircuts to books, artwork, ice cream, cakes, auto and shoe repair.
“I want Surf City businesses to succeed and our residents to save,” said MacDonald, who came up with the idea of www.huntingtonbeachcoupon.com. He has more than 50 businesses on the website, and over a dozen more coming soon on a website where anyone can print a coupon and save at local stores.
Surf Photographer John Lyman said he uses the coupons to eat at Coach’s Deli in downtown HB and for other things.
“The coupons are helping us and we get them regularly,” said an appreciative Abdo Zeidan, owner of Coach’s Deli.
Armand Balian, owner of ARCO Smog Pro, said he has been getting coupons for smog tests and auto repair. “I think it’s terrific that Chris is helping stimulate the local economy,” Balian said.
MacDonald, a Mayor’s Award recipient for his volunteer work throughout the city, doesn’t charge the businesses anything and even designs coupons for free. “It’s my way of giving back to the community and helping people where it matters the most–in the pocketbook,” said the HB native.
“I want to encourage people to spend and save locally. This will provide HB with a more vibrant economy.”
Businesses wishing to receive a free ad on www.huntingtonbeachcoupon.com can contact Chris at justlisted@yahoo.com. He’ll even design the coupon for you free of charge!
