Stunning Photo Exhibit & Sale at The Southwest Museum in LA

Puerto Rican artist David Benitez finds inspiration in Native American cultural artifacts and the peoples of the Southwest for his stunning landscape photography. His works on display at the Southwest Museum as part of the Northeast LA’s Second Saturday Art Night showcase this San Juan, Puerto Rico born talent who is an award-winning photographer focusing on landscapes. Inspired by a collection of Native American cultural artifacts, he visited the Colorado Plateau where he photographed Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and Lower Antelope Canyon.
By studying the abstract elements in the natural world, Benitez discovered that the Southwest is full of textures and patterns. Millions of years of upheaval and erosion have left a variety of shapes and textures. He has captured their intricate values of light and dark, their subtle structures and created unique compositions in this masterful exhibition. …Read more

If you can’t make it, you can see the art display that runs through Dec. 6, 2009. The Southwest Museum is located at 234 Museum Drive in Mt. Washington and is easily accessible via the Metro Rail Gold Line, which stops directly across from the museum.
