San Francisco’s Love of the Good Life and Happy Hour!

Posted by: Beach Reporter In: beaches| california| dining| travel

If you missed the story about San Francisco ranking more 4 diamond restaurants than any other city in California, then you still have time to check out this one. Happy Hour begins afternoons when the fog rolls in and friends cozy up to a cocktail lounge where really great appetizers, menu items and drinks are served at amazing discounts at many San Francisco hotels. The San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) compiled a list (though they didn’t admit to sampling & sipping, or performing their own Diamond rating tests,) of places us tourists and locals should check out when checking into the city by the bay.

These offers are subject to change but as of this posting, are fairly accurate and worth a visit just to write your own analysis:

  • Mandarin Oriental -  345 Club Lounge / MO Bar
    • MO Bar is the social center of the Mandarin Oriental, in the heart of the Financial District. An intimate setting perfect for enjoying cocktails with taste, a  “VIP Happy Hour” includes $3 bottled beers, $5 Sangria and $7 premium wine selections.
    • Mon.-Fri., 4:30-8:30 p.m.
    • Address: 222 Sansome St.
    • mandarinoriental.com

  • Bar 888 at the InterContinental
    • Bar 888 in San Francisco’s newest hotel (there are two InterContinental hotels in San Francisco) features classic and contemporary cocktails and grappa-based drinks.
    • $5 and $6 beer specials, $7 wines, cocktails for $8.88 and delicious bar bites created by Chef Dominique Crenn of newly Michelin-starred Luce restaurant.
    • Happy Hour is Mon.- Fri. from 4-8 p.m.
    • 888 Howard St. at 5th St.
    • grappabar888.com
