Skiing Begins at Big Bear Snow Summit & Wrightwood Mountain High

Posted by: Beach Reporter In: california| events

The first manmade snow has been blowing on the mountain slopes and there’s enough to officially open two resorts for skiing, even if it is just for a a few days.   Southern California mountains at Big Bear’s Snow Summit and Wrightwood’s Mountain High have both been making snow. While skiing will be quite limited,  snowbirds will flock for their first run down the slopes. Night temperatures have finally reached freezing and days are getting cooler so that the manmade snow has a chance of taking hold.   Mountain High’s in Wrightwood has been making snow since Tuesday when a cool weather pattern arrived in Southern California, just after temperatures went from 90s in Los Angeles to a more seasonal 70s.
