California Loves Sports (Yet LA Doesn’t Have a Football Team)

Posted by: Beach Reporter In: california| events

California has more ball teams and pro sports than you can shake a hockey stick at. Yet the largest media market and population in the state in Los Angeles County hasn’t seen an NFL team in 14 years. Efforts are underway to build the dream stadium in Industry as one hurdle was jumped last night with the approval by the Calif. Senate Environmental Exemption for an NFL Stadium. Voting to waive environmental rules for the city of Industry’s National Football League stadium by a 22-14 margin, a bill to exempt a proposed NFL stadium in Industry from state environmental law was heartily applauded by billionaire Ed Roski Jr., owner of Majestic Realty Co. He’s the guy who wants to construct a 75,000-seat stadium project, but still needs Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s signature to get the ball rolling. If signed by the governor,  a lawsuit by Citizens for Community Preservation in Walnut, would supposedly be nullified.

Dream teams Majestic has its eye on? Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders. Get updates on losangelesfootballstadium.com
