What’s Happening in Huntington Beach?

Hello Friends,

Here’s what’s happening in Huntington Beach and surrounding areas.

If you live in most parts of Huntington Beach, a GE Salesman has been going door to door trying to sell security systems. Be on alert for him. He has been to my house and two others on my street. The Police Chief is aware of him. Use caution when talking to him. He has a black Mercedes and wears a GE Shirt.

For your information, did you know that you can purchase the Ebb and Flow books and DVD’s to honor The City Of Huntington Beach centennial year. They are now available at The Huntington Beach City Clerk’s Office at: 2000 Main Street near Yorktown on the Second Level of the Civic Center. They are open Monday through Friday from 8AM To 5PM. The books are $10 dollars and the DVD’s are $5 dollars. If you have any questions please call: (714) 536-5227.

Volunteers are needed to help water the Urban Forest which is in Huntington Beach off of Ellis Avenue between Goldenwest And Edwards. Materials and Training are Provided. Contact Jean Nagy President Of The Huntington Beach Tree Society For Information at:

Here are some events for your review:

Saturday:

At 9:00AM, Location: Gibbs Butterfly Park in Huntington Beach on Graham Street across from Meadowlark Golf Course between Warner and Heil. The Huntington Beach Tree Society and an Eagle Scout are going to be planting 300 Monarch Butterfly Plants All volunteer planters are welcomed. Bring your shovel and come help with the planting. Huntington Beach High School Pepsters Car Show in back of 1905 Main Street near Utica. Starting at 9:00AM. Different types of classic cars are going to be displayed to raise money for the HBHS Pepsters Program.

Newland House Museum Tour - The historic Newland House features a museum and docent led tour from Noon to 4PM With local Huntington Beach historian Jerry Person who provides information about the two-story Queen Ann Victorian home built in 1898. Location: Newland Center at Beach Boulevard and Adams Avenue, 19820 Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. Questions: (714) 962-5777.

Family Movie Night. City Gym family movie night. Adult must accompany the children. Time: Doors open at 7 p.m. Location: 1600 Palm Ave., HB. Call for movie selection:

Watch Fantasy Island on KDOC TV Channel 19 at 8PM. The episode is The Real Thing.

Sunday:

Newland House Museum Tour - The historic Newland House features a museum and docent led tour from Noon to 4PM With local Huntington Beach historian Jerry Person who provides information about the two-story Queen Ann Victorian home built in 1898. Location: Newland Center at Beach Boulevard and Adams Avenue, 19820 Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. Questions: (714) 962-5777.

Procession Of Light at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza (PCH At Main) starting at 3:30PM. Come to hear a musical prelude and at 4:00PM a Procession with Inspirational Words and Prayer. This is a very good spiritual event lead from Mark Currie President Of The Huntington Beach Interfaith Council. Also Rev. Peggy Price and Father Christian Mondor shall be on hand to help with the event.Celebrating 100 years of faith in Huntington Beach.

Greg Furlong, Award Winning News Cameraman for KOCE, along with Ely Santos of the Surf City Store have teamed up to create a Centennial commercial promoting the awareness of the 100th Anniversary of Huntington Beach and the Centennial product line.
