California Weekend Begins on Friday with Events
California Events — Friday in California means weekend celebrating with an early start. Many are down to a four-day work week now. And some of us–well we don’t have REAL jobs anymore. We can pick and choose our days off. So when Friday, September 25, 2009 arrives, we discover that there’s plenty to see and do without the weekend crowds. The L.A. County Fair is going on and promises the usual food, fun, rides, contests, live entertainment and L.A.-style fair that’s allows guests to walk around in high heels rather than high-heel boots. COSTA MESA - Midori Plays Tchaikovsky. Virtuoso Midori performs one of the world’s most well-known and technically demanding violin works, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, accompanied by Frank Ticheli’s colorful soundscape, “Shooting Stars,” and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. PASO ROBLES - Soulamente in Concert. The 2009 Vina Robles Concert Series, presented by AMS Entertainment, invites guests to bring a picnic or pre-order one prepared by Trumpet Vine Catering.
