Green Acres Lavender Farm Lavender Infused Olive Oil

Atascadero, Calif.–If you’ve never tried lavender tea, lavender cookies, or a delicious lavender dessert cake, boy are you missing out! In addition to offering benefits for your skin, sinuses, and healthy living, lavender is tasty in foods. When the newsletter from Green Acres Lavender Farm arrived in my email, I knew I will soon have to make the several hundred mile trek to the farm to check out the new olive oil produced for Green Acress with a blend of their lavender and oil from a nearby olive producer (greenacreslavenderfarm.com).
Being a California olive oil junkie of sorts, I’ve recently sampled some fine quality olive oils in Temecula at the Temecula Olive Oil Company (temeculaoliveoil.com). It’s getting tough deciding which region of the state I like the oils from best. Like California wines, each growing region offers very special blends and each grower harvests and presses oils to their satisfaction.
Back on the Central California Coast just down the road from the Green Acres Clan, Olea Farm in Templeton (owned and operated by a charming French couple,) produces award-winning olive oils that will surely get you hooked. They continue to win awards year after year, and the Hollywood crowd can’t get enough of their famous Arbequina. You can order it online (oleafarm.com). It was sold at the Beverly Hills Wine and Cheese Shop the last time I dropped by there.
