Ride the Mountains 

 

Snow Summit offers a variety of terrain that is unmatched in Southern California with great trails suitable for any level of mountain bike rider.  The Scenic Sky Chair services over 40 miles of roads and trails from easy, wide open Forest Service roads to challenging singletrack trails.  Getting to the top of the mountain is effortless as the Scenic Sky Chair transports bikes and riders through the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. 

 

For novice riders, Bristlecone Trail east of the base area and Towne Trail to the west offers gentle, rolling terrain that is  a perfect introduction to mountain biking.  Intermediates will find slightly more challenging terrain from the top of Scenic Sky Chair including Skyline Drive which rolls across the top of the ridge with great views of Big Bear Lake. 

 

A short, steep singletrack climb takes you to Grandview Point which is a great spot to take a break and is the starting point of a thrilling downhill to Towne Trail and back to Snow Summit. 

 

It's a nine mile loop and one of the most popular rides in the area.  Those who are looking for more time in the saddle can stay on Skyline Drive all the way to the Champion Lodgepole Pine then loop back to the area making an epic 16 mile trek.  There's plenty of advanced terrain for thrill seeking adrenaline junkies ranging from the Snow Summit singletrack downhills on the ski runs to challenging technical favorites like Falline, IE0I and Cabin 89.  It's all at Snow Summit. There are so many downhill races during the Summer months that Snow Summit has been designated the Downhill Capitol of the Country.
