Beaches - Natural
Landforms
Beaches are natural landforms that are created by
the constant battering of the ocean, wind and
natural geologic and meteorological conditions
responsible for the wearing down of rock and other
materials. There are thousands upon thousands
of beaches around the world and millions and
billions of grains of sand. Beaches are one of the
favorite human attractions and destinations people
like to visit and to live on. Beaches are
seldom permanent in their structural characteristics
as the constant changes in weather can create
changes in the shape and form of the beaches. Below
is a list of beach resources for the best beaches in
California. There are beach safety tips, beach
resources and research pages, beach photos and many
fine points guests ask most about the beach and
beaches. Enjoy the beach and remember to become a
steward for its care. In California and elsewhere,
it's best not to take glass objects to the beach.
Plastic is one of the top items found during beach
clean-up efforts so leave the plastic at home or
throw it away carefully. Natural dangers can include
sleeper waves, found often in Northern California,
jellyfish stings that are a nuisance and many
additional hazards. Use caution at the beach but do
enjoy its beautiful sands.
