Sunset Beach
California video of kitesurfing. This is one of Southern California's
favorite spots to hop aboard a surfboard with a big sail attached or a big
kite, and take the ride of a life. It requires strength to bounce off the
waves but for those who try it, the experience is pure thrills.
You only have to catch a
sunset in Sunset Beach California (see photo above) to fall in love with
this beautiful community on the Southern California coast in Orange County.
Once you view one of the stunning purple and pink sunsets, you'll know why
they gave it that name.
Sunset Beach, the 1
mile-long beachfront community with services provided through Orange County,
was once a stop for the electric "red car" trains from Los Angeles. The
street that runs through town still bares the name Pacific Avenue, after the
Pacific Electric train. While the train no longer stops at this location,
and some of the red cars were actually discarded into the Pacific Ocean, the
tucked away village where no mail is delivered to homes, enjoys sandy
beaches ideal for vacationing.
Surfing, volleyball nets,
sunbathing, swimming and a variety of sports are enjoyed at a beach that
lacks concessions and commercial development. It's an ideal spot to drop by
for unobstructed views of sunsets. And, Sunset Beach is a great place to
take a photo!
In addition to
enjoying this fabulous sport in Sunset Beach, next door neighbor Seal
Beach has a launch ramp next to the River's End Restaurant at the
northernmost beach parking lot on ocean (down at the bottom of the hill
next to the jetty.)
