We thought this beach was our secret. But
on a summer day when the parking lot is nearly full, you suddenly know it's not
to hidden, after all.
Summerland is
a scenic city just outside Santa Barbara. Perched on hillsides are houses that
are ideally situated to overlook the Pacific Ocean. And below them, is the
Overlook Park with its lovely grass lawns, volleyball courts, kids playground
and beach.
Just an exit off Highway 101 which passes
between Southern and Northern California, you'll find this beach access park.
The video above shows two ladies walking down the dirt trail to the beach.
It's the only way you can get there, so the beach is not wheelchair accessible.
In the park are picnic tables, barbeque
grills and even a shower where you can rinse off after your beach jaunt.
You may notice in the video several dogs
wandering and frolicking at Summerland beach. Yep. It is pet
friendly.
