Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach usually has a
line waiting out the door. People love the
award winning clam chowder served there.
There's usually a line running out the door
at Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach. The meals are
filling, the clam chowder has been an award
winning dish for over 10 years, and the
location near the beach is a hit. If all
these ingredients did not combine to make
this business a success, you'd wonder what
they were doing wrong. Pismo Beach, named
after the Pismo Clam that once filled the
shores, providing tasty morsels for visitors
who enjoyed clamming, is fittingly a place
where you would find a decent bowl of clam
chowder.
Splash
Cafe has carried the torch and has gotten it
right by offering popular, flavorful dishes
at affordable prices. For instance, you can
get a sourdough bowl of soup in which the
bread becomes your bowl, and for that we
paid around $6. While the famous
San Francisco Boudin Bakery charges a
bit more, you'll discover the Pismo Beach
bowl challenges it on every count.
Other
foods served include deli sandwiches,
seafood platters, tacos, hot dogs, salads
and desserts. Some of the salads
included on our last visit garden, ahi,
salmon, shrimp or chicken. You can buy the soups in
Costco stores throughout Central Coast,
California, order it online, or visit one of
two locations in either Pismo Beach or San
Luis Obispo.
In the
video, two girls discuss what they like
about this soup.
