Video of sea lions swim in Avila Beach,
California. The pods of sea lions that
inhabit the area also stay at the Harford
Pier in Avila's Port San Luis.
In the
video above, you can watch the sea lions
that swim in the waters of Avila Beach and
San Luis Bay. Part of the San Luis Bay
Harbor District, the region is actually
considered part of a larger region, San Luis
Obispo. Don't be confused by all this.
What you need to know is that if you go to
Avila Beach and head for the furthest pier
of three on Avila Beach Drive, it is from
that pier (Port San Luis or Harford Pier)
where you can watch the sea lions swim.
You
can see three sea lions swimming in this
particular video stream, and study the way
they use their fins and bodies to navigate
and dive. On most days you need only wait a
while to see them swimming. While you can
stand and watch within close range, you can
also go inside the restaurant on the pier,
Old Porte Inn, which was voted one of San
Luis Obispo's favorite seafood restaurants,
to enjoy views of the creatures from your
dining tables.
