Bayshore Beach in Belmont Shore is a
family-friendly, kid-friendly beach in which they close local street,
Bayshore, next to the beach during summer daytime hours for children to play
safely while crossing the street. Swimmers, sailors, kayakers, sunbathers
and water frolicking all are part of the charm of this bay next to Pacific
Ocean.
If you think life couldn't get any
sweeter, any more kid and family-friendly, you haven't visited Bayshore
Shore Beach in Belmont Shore, a neighborhood of Long Beach, California.
How charmed life must be to wander out onto your patio and watch the
merriment on the bayside of the Pacific Ocean just a block down the street!
During the summer, barricades are
placed in the streets and traffic is diverted to make the environment even
more user-friendly...and safer for children, moms, adults and just about
anyone who ventures over to the bay for some play.
Swimming, sailing in the little sabot
boats, kayaking, sunbathing and sand castles are a few beach activities
you'll enjoy at this beach where parking comes at a premium and you may have
to walk a few blocks to gain access to.
Located off the busy 2nd Street, a
thoroughfare that connects Long Beach with Pacific Coast Highway and Ocean
Boulevard that leads into the heart of downtown Long Beach, Bayshore Street
is open most of the time, except when the kids are off school (June -
August).
The Bayshore Beach offers kayak
rentals, gondola rides, a beach concession selling sodas and sandwiches, and
a rental facility for parties on the beach. A kids playground, tennis
court and basketball court are also located next to the beach and are quite
busy during the summer and weekends, especially.
