As you enter the beach on the
hilltop, you see this very light sand...lighter than most beaches in
California. It stands in stark contrast to the twisted branches of
the Monterey Pines. Itt's one of the most stunning beaches because of
those trees. They have incredible character.
Location: Ocean Avenue
at Scenic Road,
Carmel,
California. Park your car and head for the beach.
Usually there are kids
romping, an artist or two painting ocean scenes, and someone resting
under the tree.
Part of a perfect Carmel
vacation, seeing this beach and trees are a routine you become
accustomed to each time you visit on a beach vacation to Monterey or
Carmel. This beach, and the beaches of
17 Mile Drive
make for spectacular scenery and photographs.
The image above is an actual
photo that was manipulated through image software. It made the
scene, which is almost surreal all on its own, seem more timeless by
reducing the characters more to their actions or motion.
Carmel is photo paradise. The
beaches, plants, trees, crashing waves and flowers all lend to some
of nature's finest shows of color and light. You do not need to
filter the pictures. Most stand alone for their subtle tones and
beauty. But this photo gallery was included as an opportunity to
show travelers to our California vacation guide that you can have
fun on any trip taking pictures, then turning them into things--wall
hangings, calendars, or whatever works.
Where to stay:
La Playa Hotel on Camino & 8th is walking distance to
everything, including the beach.
