Dogs in Huntington Beach at Park Bench
Cafe sign their paws to a book fundraiser.
Huntington Beach, Calif.―When
gallery owner of the Surf City Gallery Huntington Beach, Peggy Howell,
commissioned Toreen West to paint portraits of dogs for a book, she
wrote the stories to accompany the artist's work and created a hit that
got doggy and and their owners' tails wagging in Huntington Beach,
California.
Cute, furry, adorable dogs were
the stars of the show at Huntington Beach's Central Park at the book
launch, doggy paw signing and special guest appearance by Huntington
Beach resident, Dean Torrence, with his very own dog featured in the
compilation.
Called Tinker, the book is about
the impressions dogs may have in their experiences with life. Incredibly
cute, the book's participation was guaranteed for owners who had
portraits of their dogs made. The book's proceed were to benefit a
nonprofit organization such as the Boys & Girls Club.
Held on the green, grass lawns of
the cool icon and outdoor/indoor cafe, Park Bench, the place is known
for its pet friendly policies. It's a home away from home for families
who take their dogs for a walk in Central Park, then stop for a nibble
or bite to eat. The restaurant not only specializes in burgers, fries,
omelets and other delectable delights, but serves up doggy foods for
pets who sit next to their owners drooling.
