The Gallery
HB offers one of the best contemporary
art selections of any Orange County,
California gallery. Featuring more Todd
White art than any other sales gallery,
if you're a fan of this great artist,
The HB Gallery is the obvious place to
visit and study the paintings and signed
works.
Todd White has visited the gallery
previously when it launched along with
the opening of the
Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort &
Spa. White used to make
signing guest appearances at wine
sampling nights at The Red Chair Lounge.
His popularity exploded shortly after
those events and he now enjoys world
acclaim as a thriving artist. Based in
Los Angeles, White credits his unique
style partially to his studio work on
the cartoon series Sponge Bob. The
characters in the series took on
caricature style qualities not too
different from seen above in these
unusual portraits.
With a little time in his private studio
painting, Todd White refined his style
and captured the rich and famous or a
look of exaggerated elegance that often
includes women or men in formal attire
with a cocktail and even a cigarette in
hand. Hair styles portray an era of
Hollywood sleek, and the backgrounds are
generally void of color or scene. While
there are other galleries in the region
carrying Todd White art, The Gallery HB
is the ultimate venue to visit and see
them mounted on walls. With the largest
gallery collection and a direction
connection to Todd, you'll find this
Huntington Beach hotel stand-alone
gallery building is well worth a visit,
whether from out of town, or living
locally.
The gallery isn't solely dedicated to
Todd White. Other recognized artists and
sculptors include Toreen West, Dean
Torrence.

For those serious about art collecting, we'd like to also
recommend another nearby gallery that
offers incredible value for watercolor
originals and sculptures. The Bill
Anderson Art Gallery in Sunset Beach
(next door to Captain Jack's) features
the works of several internationally
recognized artists who happen to live in
Southern California. World travelers fly
into Los Angeles to take a look and
purchase original artwork.
And
just in case you're new to the area, you
really need to know about Laguna Beach's
varied art galleries and fine art reps.
With three major art venues, summer-long
art events, and dozens of fine art
galleries, there's nowhere on the coast
between La Jolla (San Diego) and Santa
Monica that compares. Honestly, when you
take into account that most of Laguna
Beach's galleries are near the ocean,
you'd have to visit Carmel by the Sea on
the Central California coast to find
such a concentration of fine art at the
beach.
Huntington Beach's The HB Gallery is Surf City's best bet at
collecting fine art. There are other
popular art galleries and framing shops,
but their quality and cost are usually
not in the caliber of the Hyatt hotel's
unique, vendor-owned store. |
