SURFING MUSEUM "SIZZLES" WITH SUMMER
CONCERT
By Chris MacDonald
Huntington Beach, Calif.―The recent Surfin Sunday Concert at the
Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum featured guest guitarist
Eddie Bertrand, playing with The New Soundwaves. They enthusiastically
performed a number of surf hits, including Bertrand's famous, "Squad
Car." Entertaining Eddie (of Eddie & The Showmen fame) raged with his
guitar antics, bringing "down" the large, grateful audience of all ages. It
was the best surf music I have ever heard. Eddie's passion for the surf
culture showed and his pure joy for playing were evident. The New Soundwaves played with spirit, that had the audience dancing in the
aisles. On hand at the memorable concert were Natalie Kotsch, founder of
the HB International Surfing Museum, Linda Miller, Events Director for
the HB International Surfing Museum (& her foot-tapping husband John) as
well as Matt Liffering, host of Surf City Highlights on HBTV Channel 3.
(Thanks, Matt.) He videotaped parts of the concert that are going to air
on "Surf City Highlights" this July.
While you're at the Surfing Museum, please come in and see the
incredible Beach Boys Exhibit. It's great for the whole family and you
can even sing Karaoke to The Beach Boys songs. This is all part of the
Huntington Beach culture. We really appreciate your support.
