Surf City Surfing Music Summer Concert on Surfin' Sundays
 

Huntington Beach --When everybody goes surfing in Huntington Beach, it's more than a board experience. The board of the International Surfing Museum says that it's a wave, it's a song and a concert series that explains why "everybody's gone surfin' USA!"

Bring your lawn chair and kick back for the launch of a thirteenth year of Surfin' Sundays concert series. HBISM (Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum)  invites the public to enjoy five bands in the launch of their annual summer concerts with songs ranging from guest cameos by Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean, to Dick Dales doing a few riffs on his famous guitar.

While famed surf genre musicians are not specifically listed on the 2009 concert line-up, we watched them last year perform as drop-ins at some of the concert series special events.

Attendance is free at concerts held on Sunday afternoon usually at the Surfing Museum in downtown Huntington Beach, and on three Sundays at Pier Plaza overlooking the locally world famous Huntington Beach Pier.

In May, the kick-0ff concert launches the series at the Pier Plaza beginning at 11 a.m. with five bands. Vendors will sell surf-related trinkets and items. Don't miss it! Go surfin' in Surf City USA.
