Sunset Beach Vacation Gallery Sunbathing Picture is a part
of the picture gallery images to help you lighten up.
Sunset Beach is not the famous
Hawaiian Island Sunset Beach but it still can't be beat for a
Southern California vacation. Above is an image from our picture
gallery to help you lighten up. It began as an actual photograph and
was filtered to appear as art. Shown in the image is the Pacific
Ocean, two colorful umbrellas sheltering sunbathers, two birds
looking at each other, and a few dots in the water that are surfers
clinging to their surfboards.
Like its counterpart in
Hawaii, this Sunset Beach loves its beaches--and its surfing. Sunset
Beach in California is a sunny destination with 3 hotels (2 on the
beach side of the street and 1 across the highway overlooking the
bay). It includes lots of lovely homes on the sand, many popular
bars with live entertainment, restaurants, a gas station, a little
post office where residents get their mail, a community center,
volunteer fire center, and a community atmosphere along the
greenbelt that's the park land for this 1 mile strip of living,
sunbathing, vacationing and fun.
When visiting Sunset Beach,
you'll need to fly into Long Beach Airport (very close), Orange
County Airport or Los Angeles International for those who will be
flying in. On a drive, you'll exit the 405 San Diego Freeway at Seal
Beach Blvd., and head west toward Seal Beach, or exit the 405 at
Bolsa Chica Blvd., then head toward Warner where you'll turn right.
Both roads lead to Pacific Coast Highway where Sunset Beach can be
accessed.
When booking a trip, the
hotels are not fancy. They are value oriented hotels. The three
choices are
EconoLodge,
Ramada,
and
Best Western (nicest, but not on beach-it's across the street).
When eating, you'll find King
Crab, steaks, seafood, Italian, a Brix Wine Bar, Mother's Tavern,
Irish Mist, Turcs, etc. There are also breakfast favorites such as
Woody's Diner, and across the street at Peter's Landing is
Starbucks.
Romance abounds at
Sunset Gondola where you can ride in an authentic gondola around
the bay and harbor. The gondoliers can also arrange to drop off or
pick you up from Captain Jack's restaurant.
