Sunset Beach is as much about its banners as anything. The active community arts league (same group that does everything else in town), makes sure the kids have a chance to take paint to brush, and create art.  From a community "art on the wall" tile mural project at the Community Center, to the annual banner paintings, the city's fathers and mothers keep the kids involved in artistic endeavors, because it's proven that art enhances learning.

We've photographed some of our favorite banners and especially enjoy the surfing-themed Santas and holiday decorations that celebrate life from a kids perspective at one of Southern California's premier beaches, Sunset Beach.
