Shipley Nature Center Spring Festival  in Huntington Beach was attended by Council Member Joe Carchio, former mayor and Shipley Nature Center board member Shirley Dettloff, and Jerry Person, City of Huntington Beach historian.
 

In this video an exhibition is presented by the Bolsa Chica Land Trust President Gerald Chapman. Attending the Shipley Nature Center Spring Festival, Chapman's organization seeks restore another Huntington Beach natural resource. Chapman states that the project will take approx. 10 years to complete and should cost around $4 million. Bolsa Chica Land Trust supports the efforts of Shipley Nature Center through its attendance at events such as the annual Spring Festival.

The annual Spring Festival celebrates the renovation and restoration of one of the gems of Huntington Beachh's Central Park in the heart of the city. Included at this community event is a Maypole Dance.


The Shipley Nature Center is operated by the non-profit Friends of Shipley Nature Center. Acting as stewards, the "Friends" have spent thousands of community service hours weeding, planting, building, renovating, writing grants and hosting events in the nature center.
