Santa Maria's Central Coast Vacation
Santa Maria, Calif. and Santa Maria Valley has a
long and rich history as a welcoming place that
makes guests feel at home. The mellow climate
influenced by arctic ocean currents keeps the valley
cool and pleasant, except for the occasional heat
spells that hit the California coast usually once or
several days per year.
Many travelers overlook Santa Maria as a
destination in favor of the beach hotels and resorts
in nearby Santa Barbara or Pismo Beach. It is easy
to understand that when you are seeking a beach
getaway, why not stay directly overlooking the ocean
versus in some hotel on Broadway Street 12 miles
inland. The reason for choosing Santa Maria may be a
little better price on a room, a more quiet
location, the amenities that come with a more
populated city such as movies, shopping, stores, and
dining, all accessible in easy-to-drive city
streets.
Another advantage to making Santa Maria your rest
stop is its central location between Pismo Beach,
San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Cambria and Cayucos, all
to the north on Interstate 101, and Solvang,
Buellton, and Santa Barbara to the south.
Wine country sampling is within 15 -30 minutes of
the local hotels along beautiful country roads. We
think that once you try a stay in Santa Maria, you
may find it a preferred choice for its
understatement.
