San Diego Convention Center,
the fourth largest convention center in California, is one of
two bay view conference and convention centers in California.
Located in downtown San Diego, it features 700,000 square
feet of exhibit space.

When you spend a day or three at
a convention center, you really get to know it
as you walk from one end to the other, back and forth between
exhibit halls and meetings rooms; then back to your hotel room.
From that perspective, San Diego is one of the most pleasurable
California convention centers, because every time you step outdoors
in the mellow San Diego sun, something catches your eye and beckons
you to come play.
If
you escape the fun when attending a convention in San Diego, then
bully for you. Not many have successfully ignored the ball park
nearby, Gaslamp Quarters at night, trains to Tijuana, ferry boats to
Coronado, San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Balboa Park, Old Town, on and on.
What more can you say then San Diego is a playground of beaches,
bays and city ways.
The
convention center cannot be missed on the skyline. One section is
covered with what looks like a Wild Animal Park Tent top canvas,
though the roofing material is actually permanent. Then there are
the odd green tubular roof top pipes made out of glass. Looking from
across the bay or flying in by plane (shown in the photos above),
you will notice this long building with the green glass top.
San Diego Marriott Hotel And Marina,
333 West Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA, is listed in Google maps as
325 feet from the convention center. That tells you that all you
need to do is walk out the door of one and head to the other.
Completely non-smoking the Marriott even has a few guest boat slips.
It offer four restaurants on site, meeting space, 1,362 rooms in a
two unique crescent shaped towers each standing 25 stories tall, and
city or bay views from rooms.

From the San Diego Airport less
than four miles away, the taxi ride is under $10 normally, and all
the bells and whistles from trains to planes to boats are right next
to the hotel and convention center. You can walk most places,
including Seaport Village, a shopping mall with dining next door to
the hotel. If you find out your organization is holding an event or
meeting at the San Diego Convention Center, don't hesitate. Go
there!
