Pomponio State Beach in San
Mateo County California shown in the photos above is set
into a small valley on the Northern California coast.
As you drive along
this sometimes sunny, sometimes fog-shrouded California
coast, don't worry. One minute the weather can be one
way and a cloud will arrive or depart, changing the
weather just that quickly. Pomponio State Beach
This area provides access to miles of gently sloping,
sandy beaches at the base of high sandstone bluffs. This
day-use facility features a small lagoon, roaring surf -
and a wide parking area, picnic tables, and barbecues.
Location - Directions
The beach is located 12 miles south of Half Moon Bay on
Highway 1.
Seasons/Climate/Recommended clothing
The weather can be changeable; layered clothing is
recommended.
No beach fires are
allowed, no pets, and don't remove shells, driftwood,
and other natural beach features.
