Video Orange
County Beach Paths California Beaches
Orange County beach paths are nearly always
within view of the Pacific blue. Stretching for a solid 15 miles
along Newport Beach & Huntington Beach, you can also ride the more
trafficked Pacific Coast Highway, but we recommend staying on the
protected path shown in the video.
Do you
fancy a ride in a surrey? Maybe you'd rather just take a stroll and use
those walking feet. Or you can
rent some inline skates, a bike or bring
a skateboard and enjoy the paved path that begins at Warner Avenue and
Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, ending at the very tip of the
Balboa Peninsula at West Jetty Park near the famed Wedge in Newport
Beach. You don't actually have to travel the entire distance (realizing
that you must return from where you came), but any way you slice that
orange, your Orange County beach exercise is going to put you on your
way to a brighter day as the endorphins kick in. For those who
prefer to bask in the sunshine,
Orange County sunbathing is fine!
Smaller
paths and routes at the beach actually exist in San Clemente, too, so
you're not limited to one specific location. And if you choose to veer
out of Orange County only three miles up the road in Long Beach, you can
pick, up the path that's every bit as popular along the beaches
overlooking Belmont Pier, Queen Mary ship and the port. The Orange
County Transit Association is the bus system for this coastal route,
offering bike racks in the front of the bus. You can connect throughout
the County of Orange, accessing places such as Disneyland or the Amtrak
trains in Fullerton that take you practically anywhere in the U.S.
On the
video shown above, you'll see the Southern California palms that line a
portion of the paved beach path, and you'll notice all kinds of foot
traffic. That's the one thing that will force you to slow down and move
at an easy pace in the summertime. With so many people walking across
the path to the beach, you really have to be on the watch and yield to
them because they often are not paying attention.
