Huntington Beach, Calif.―The
rebranded paintball competition in Huntington Beach (NPPL was sold and
then closed) is now featured as the US Paintball League. Making its
debut appearance in Huntington Beach, this event promises to capture the
essence of previous paintball competitions held on the sands of the
famed Huntington Beach, right next to the Huntington Beach Pier. Take in
the action in the stadium, or wander the tent city expo with all the
latest paint guns, ammo, and gear such as clothing, helmets and more.
Paintball is a game based on the traditional format of Capture the Flag.
Super 7 format matches two seven-man teams against each other on a field
approximately the size of a tennis court. Inflated shapes that offer
some cover to the players. Each game lasts a maximum of 7 minutes
and whichever team eliminates the other and captures the opposing teams
flag wins the entire match. The action is fast and furious.
Held for three days on the south
side of the Huntington Beach Pier, visitors can watch from stands to see
behind the inflatables where the players hide. Activities surrounding
the event include 60 vendors at Pier Plaza, new gear lines,
manufacturers, pro player autograph signings on Friday, and some TV
celebs are expected to make unannounced appearances.
