from a Central California coast wedding held in the spring
Nevermind the slight mist and clouds
that could have dampened the spirits of a Celtic wedding in Nipomo,
Californiaa! When Jon and Angela said their vows the weather held back and
gave them the most perfect Central Coast day a bride and groom could ever
desire. The sun wasn't shining till later, but the overcast weather
made for better outdoor pictures, and the guests found the climate ideal for
squint-free dining, dancing and socializing.

With the entire house rented at the
Kaleidoscope Inn, the 200 guests who came from L.A., Burbank, San Diego,
Orange County, Las Vegas, Ventura, Napa and San Francisco, found nearby,
affordable accommodations in Santa Maria. Kaleidoscope Inn is set in
residential neighborhood and can be rented in its entirety for events
ranging from weddings to reunions.
It contains lovely outdoor grounds
with several gazebos, covered patio decking and lush lawns that are well
kept for party-goers.
The wedding itself was as good as they
come. Angela, the bride, works for a flower growing company and
obtained the finest Calla Lillies from them, along with locally grown snap
dragons in rich hues of yellow, red and orange. Jon is a high school teacher
in Santa Maria. An associate performed a Celtic ceremony for the Italian
couple. Layers of rope with knots were placed atop the couples hands and
wrists to symbolize the bonds they share.
From the march down the lawn with
Celtic music, to the bride's mother and her merry troupe performing a
Renaissance dance in costume for the couple, the day was filled with
surprises and happiness. Nipomo is located approx. 10 minutes from the beach
and offers the gentle climate and cool ocean breezes perfect for weddings.
