Monterey County
Fair is held annually at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. Held
annually in August for approx. 5 days, the event features livestock,
petting zoos, carnival rides, agriculture contests and awards and
live entertainment.

- Monterey County Fairgrounds are located in Monterey. Surrounded by
oak-studded hills, the 22-acre fairground offers events space, the
annual fair, and horse racing.
Known for its Monterey Jazz Concerts,
the fairgrounds, itself, has hosted musicians Duke Ellington, Billy
Dean, Carlos Santana, Dave Brubeck, Sarah Vaughn and many more in its
long and glorious operations since 1935.
Reaching record crowds in 2007, the
fair offered senior and military days, plus a popular pet contest.
Live bands, cultural entertainment
and a variety of things to do for all ages make the fair one of the most
popular and affordable forms of entertainment available. Look for the
Monterey County Fair to return each year at the same place and around
the same time.
Getting there: Casa Verde exit off
Highway 1..go three blocks to fairground entrance.
Tickets: Sold at the fair, the prices
range for free for kids under 5 years to under $10 for full admission
price. Armbands are sold for unlimited rides--they cost more.
