Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa Adds Activities Pool Overlooking
HB Pier and Beaches
Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa added a $4 million Slyders themed
attraction complete with three water slides. Opening mid-April, the attraction
addressed issues that the luxury beach resort in Huntington Beach, Calif. did
not anticipate when launched in Feb. 2003. Operating six years now, the
profitable and much lauded beach hotel has had time to gather data, tweak
operations and act on modifications to the property to better serve the needs of
vacationers. However, this particular item also enhances the use of the hotel's
grounds during off-season when traffic to the hotel may be down and the local
public can help pump up profits through paid admission to Slyders.
The newest resort enhancement took out the tennis courts and replaced them
with swimming pools, 2 fire pits, a pool cafe and bar, and a children’s wading
pool and Jacuzzi.
Billed as "one of a kind" along the Orange County coast, the nearest
competition, two themed pool attractions do not sit within view of the Pacific
Ocean. One is the Irvine Wild Rivers waterpark and the other is Knott's Berry
Farm's summertime attraction, Soak City.
According to the Hyatt Regency HB manager, Cheryl Phelps, Slyders water
playground
will offer seasonal day
passes for non-resort guests. She said the attraction with its private poolside
cabanas equipped with TV and internet access, Shubee’s Poolside Bar and CafĂ©
and reduced parking rate for the day, will offer one more opportunity for the
community surrounding this resort to embrace and spend friendly dollars in Surf
City. Amenities for paid theme park visitors include complimentary pool towels
and toys.
Camp Hyatt activities are also available to keep little ones entertained with
fun activities such as hair braiding, temporary tattoos, dive in movies, and
cookie decorating. A convenient Birthday Party package secures a private cabana,
a selection of lunch packages, cake service, and more.
The
Hyatt
Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa’s main pool will be re-themed to
provide a calmer and more serene poolside experience for guests wanting a more
subdued dip and lounge. Whether guests are looking for an upscale relaxed
atmosphere or a fun family setting, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort &
Spa will provide the ultimate vacation escape for everyone.
Development of the new activity pool is currently underway, and will be open
to the public mid April. Seasonal day passes for adults and children ages 3 – 10
are $25 subject to change and $15, (check for pricing to confirm), with daily
cabana rentals at $150 subject to change. Children 2 and under get in for free.
