Beautiful skies light up the night, as do the strings of holiday lights in
Huntington Harbour for the Lighted Boat Parade and Cruise of Lights.
Have you decorated your home with lights
for the holidays? Every year throughout California the lighting becomes more
extravagant and fascinating. Animated characters made out of lights just seem to
make the evenings brighter.
Shown in the picture above is a decorated
home that overlooks the bay in Huntington Harbour. Residents of this Orange
County, California beach community pull out all stops for an extreme makeover
that has folks driving for miles just to see the lovely displays of modest homes
and mansions that are decorated with colorful strings of lights for the
Christmas Holidays.
Throughout the years we've visited and
toured this wonderland. There used to even be a drive-through light display at
Boeing Company. That lasted only a year or two and ended due to lack of
sponsorship. Unlike that event, however, the Cruise of Lights is a lighted, tour
boat ride that has been around for over 40 years. Today visitors can drive
to Huntington Beach, park and hop aboard a yacht for a ride to remember. The
weather is chilly and there are places to hide inside the boat cabin. But for
adventuresome outdoorsmen and women, girls and boys, there's nothing more
exciting than being bundled up and riding in the wind, to see the lighted homes.
