Cress Street Beach Photo & Info - Laguna Beach California
Laguna Beach, California's Cress Street Beach in
Laguna is at the base of a cliff in a coves that wrap around the
Laguna coast in south Orange County, California. Limited parking
and stairs to climb make these beaches less crowded than their
neighbors to the south and north in Newport Beach and Dana
Point.
Cress Street Beach has not been marked as
an official diving or surfing beach, but the truth is that both are enjoyed at
Lagunaa's rocky shore that is located down a steep set of steps that land at sand
spots amongst big rocks. Looking like something from a volcanic activity, the
big rocks on this beach are beautiful to see and photograph. Located near Brooks
and Mountain Road beaches, the parking is quite limited. But for
vacationers, there's a fantastic hotel
La Casa del
Camino, the near hotel to Cress Street Beach, is elegant and worth a
stay. European linens, sweeping views, and historic interest with
antiques and great vibes (built as an escape for the Hollywood stars), the
rooms are cozy (small) and all feature Internet access for doing business or
keeping in touch. On site don the corner of Cress and Pacific Coast Highway.
The stoplight at Cress St. makes for easy discovery, unlike many
of the beaches that you may zoom past if you go too fast. An
award wining restaurant features gourmet French cuisine served
nightly. But there are also many fantastic restaurants nearby, within
walking distance.
A fantastic
set of shops and restaurants nearby on Pacific Coast Highway include
Sapphire Laguna, 1200 South Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA, (949) 715-9888,
formerly part the Pottery Shack. There's a chocolatier, a deli with
fine cheeses and breads, a beautiful art and glass studio established by one
of Laguna Beach's longest working glass blowers who trained many artists
featured in his shop, and a large statue of the
The Greeter.
