We discussed in the first portion of this story how well run the Comfort Suites Huntington Beach is and stated that if there are the occasional complaints about management, we haven't heard them. Why would we?  We took the photo shown above, often used in the company promotions (though it looks a lot better in the original rendition which is somewhere in our photos files).

This is really a low quality version of that picture taken from across the street next to Target, Marie Calender's, Office Max, Sports Chalet, a grocery store, Lazy Dog Cafe and other shops. The hotel (all suites) is located near this major shopping center, though it is not one of those places with enclosed malls and anchored stores such as Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. To find those, you'll need to head to either South Coast Plaza or Fashion Island. Westminster Mall nearby does offer Macy's, Sears and JC Penny's. The nearest dining mall is Bella Terra shopping mall, just around the corner. While you can walk there, the traffic is fast-paced. Hotels do not tell you to walk because it makes them liable should you get injured. So honestly, you can walk but crossing the busy lights is always a concern anywhere, and you're safer in a car.

We've promoted Huntington Beach hotels since 1996. We have met many of the owners and managers (never met the owner of Comfort Suites chain), and have a long term knowledge of the operations and level of service of the Huntington Beach Comfort Suites.   And finally, one of our staff (the editor/publisher), sat on the desk of complaint central at Huntington Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau, fielding calls about hotels from guests who didn't know who else to resolve issues with.  You think you've heard it all, and when you answer the phones, you do become alerted to problems with specific management issues.  There was never a call about this hotel. As a matter of fact, this hotel becomes one of the most popular during the Rose Parade and other events in which people need relatively affordable rooms near the freeway to high-tail it up to Pasadena for the football game. Some fans of teams and reportedly even team members themselves have stayed here. If you still need more information, not a problem. Now for the hotel room description, simply based on our impressions, we'll tell you what we think.
