In
this interpretation of Huntington Beach
Pier, a landmark of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, you'll see
almost an accurate shade of the pier's
signature roof that houses Ruby's Diner.
However, there's little else that
accurately portrays the true color of an
HB vacation day.
We
call them vacation days because any time
you visit downtown Huntington Beach and
its pier, even if you work there you
somehow get energized by the ocean
itself. Some cities such as Pebble Beach
to the north in Monterey County show
waves in constantly, crashing turbulence
against rocks and shore. While
Huntington Beach's sand was created by
such a process, the beach offers
opportunity to wander into the water and
even swim.
But be forewarned, lives are lost each
year when people wander out a bit too
far and are pulled by the strong,
unexpected currents known as rips.
Back to the picture above. Shows in
teal, blue, red, chartreuse and
lavender, the images is one variation of
a set of graphically manipulated photos,
all coming from one original you can
view. This sort of digital photography
is popular and was the bulk of a body of
works called "A-Pierances" that were
tied to an anniversary of the Huntington
Beach Pier, the brainchild of Natalie
Kotsch. She is a Huntington Beach
Realtor and founder of the
International
Surfing Museum.
The event was well-received and
enthusiasm was shared with other local
photographer/artists such as former
Huntington Beach Mayor Connie Boardman,
who is a talented photographer in her
own right. The series of photos
appearing here were produced using
various filters. The image above
employed several.
Where to stay in HB, CA? Do you know, I
have expensive taste. I have visited
every single hotel in Huntington Beach,
I've looked at the rooms, sat on the
beds, and there's only two I've selected
for overnight stays. Problem is, not
everyone has the money to spend on rooms
at the
Hyatt or
Hilton beach resorts. By
popularity, you probably should consider
the
Best Western Huntington Beach at
the beach or value-oriented
Howard Johnson Express.
