Anaheim Disneyland Beach Hotels, Southern California Theme Park Beaches Map

Anaheim,Calif. --Disneyland Beaches--Shown above is a map of Southern California beaches and their relationship to Disneyland. You can actually buy your theme park tickets to Disneyland and stay at beach hotels in the surrounding area. We have provided a map with driving distances of anywhere from 25 minutes to 90 minutes (average non-rush hour traffic). While some Anaheim hotels provide the advantage of buses that come by and take guests to Universal Studios Hollywood, or even Las Vegas, the beach can't be beat for a vacation that combines theme park fun with cool evening strolls, bonfires and wiener roasts, and sunsets over the Pacific Ocean. Now that's a winning combo!

When Walt Disney built a theme park to entertain his children and all kids who needed a happy, fantasy place to play, Disney's marketing acumen was on target. If you build a theme park at a beach, there's this entire ocean on one side of the park that misses potential traffic and visitors, based on a marketing theory.

Anaheim has no beaches. It built a theme park, California Adventure, with an entire section devoted to the beach experience, but nothing quite compares with the real deal. For those who visit Disney Resorts on a vacation, seeing a beach is part of their vacation at least 50% of the time. And while Anaheim offers over 150 affordable hotels catering to families, those alluring beaches aren't that far away that tourists can't book hotel rooms at the beach, then drive to theme park each day.

So where are Anaheim and Disneyland's best beaches for a theme park and beach vacation?  Assuming you know you'll need to drive to the theme park, then consider that the Disneyland fireworks are launched around 9:15-9:30 p.m. each night, and the beaches Orange County close around 10 p.m. That doesn't give you time for fun at night. Disneyland opens anywhere from 8 to 9 a.m. depending on the season, so you won't get much time to enjoy the beach during the day, as well. But if you know all this and have some of your family opting for the beach instead of the park, or you have extra days to stick around to enjoy the beach, then we recommend you go for it and have a good time.  If you want to see other types of Disneyland vacations, here are a few more ideas.

ORANGE COUNTY BEACH HOTELS

Orange County beaches and Los Angeles Conty beaches are the closest beaches to Disneyland Resorts. Thanks to freeways that connect on fairly direct routes to Newport Beach and Long Beach, you can be in either city in less than 30 minutes from Disneyland when the traffic is good. The beaches are worth checking out, and a hotel stay on the coast isn't a bad idea. The weather can be 10 degrees cooler at the ocean, so be sure to have a jacket for the often cool nights.
