Cruz is extremely popular all year long. Sand court volleyball players find
this beach location ideal for an good workout and for competition play.
In Santa Cruz, tourists and locals can enjoy California Beach Volleyball
Association competition play, as well as other organizational play.
For the tourist, local
and anybody who loves sand volleyball, the courts are open to the public.
They are located on Main Beach on the south side of the Santa Cruz Wharf.
It's fairly easy to start up a game or join in with similar skill level
players.
Don't be shy. Just bring
your ball or buy one at a local concession and you'll be on your way to some
fantastic, sun-soaked volleyball action.
Main Beach - Located in
front of Beach Street and to the east side of the municipal wharf, Main
Beach is ideal for larger events such as corporate gatherings or sporting
tournaments. Framed between the ocean and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk,
this 1000 yard stretch of sand is suitable for events 6000+ in attendance.
Portions of the beach are close to restrooms, parking, and electricity.

Note: The City of Santa
Cruz offers a beach volleyball league. You may encounter team play when
visiting. There are usually additional courts made available to the public
during such events, but availability is not guaranteed.
