beach
playgrounds
Mother's Beach playground with swings,
slides and a big gray whale climb toy are several reasons why Mother's Beach
in Long Beach is so popular. On the whale pictured above the smart boy
showed us how to push the button and make water come out of its spout.
Pretty cool!
There's a great swing set and play
station at the beach, shaded trees with a grass lawn where you can picnic
and the sand beach that overlooks Marine Stadium where the Cal State Long
Beach rowing team practices and where Dragon Boat Races are held.
So much fun in one place called
Mother's. Mom is quite popular and we know of three beaches named for her in
Southern California, alone. There's Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey,
Mother's Beach in Long Beach and Mother's Beach in a bay in Huntington
Harbour in Huntington Beach, south in Orange County. For a kids vacation,
this is the kid play station. Nearby hotels include
Best Western Golden Sails Hotel,
6285 East Pacific Coast Highway,
Long Beach.
While those visiting Southern
California like to stay at Disneyland, beaches are a second choice in
Southern California. We written about the compelling reasons to choose Long
Beach for a kids vacation. If you missed that information, Aquarium of the
Pacific, Shoreline Village and trips to Catalina Island were a few of the
reasons we'd consider staying here. Tourists don't usually know about Long
Beach's great beaches and bays. They are great for children. To find
Mother's Beach in Long Beach, you can reach it at Marine Park on Appian
Way at 2nd St.
