Beach vacations top the list of popular types of LA vacations, and though it costs more to stay right on or at the beach, you can stay a few miles inland and save money.

In downtown Los Angeles some of the top concerts halls such as the Disney Concert Hall, and Staples Center for ball games offer sports, entertainment and arts. The Club Med of Socal is Catalina Island, a one hour boat ride departing Long Beach, San Pedro, and even Marina del Rey. With the largest municipal marina in the USA, Long Beach is an aquatics paradise. Queen Mary Ship, a water taxi public transport system, boats to rent, jetski launch, and boats to Catalina Island all make for a prime vacation. And don't forget to check Long Beach's Aquarium of the Pacific.
