American Canyon is Napa County's newest city and one of its fastest
growing areas. Established in 1992, the region appears mostly rural
but evidence of recent housing development provides a glimpse into
the future.
Napa County is a tremendously popular area for tourists and a
highly desirable place to live. Since many areas of Napa Valley and
Napa County are bound by laws that prohibit rapid growth, American Canyon
offers the region's best hope of expansion. While one new hotel was recently

in yards and a roadside market
are some of the signposts to American Canyon. Located
approximately 35 miles north of San Francisco at the southern end of Napa
Valley and Napa County near the City of Vallejo, the city is surrounded by
natural beauty. There's a 500-acre Wetlands Preservation area to the west, the 640-acre Jack
& Bernice Newell Wilderness Preserve to the east and foothills of the Sulphur Springs Mountain Range to the northeast.
Approximately 15 miles south of City of Napa, American Canyon retains
country charm while providing access to the major highways serving San
Francisco and Napa.
Highway 29 - Napa Valley Wine Trail runs north and
south through the city, Highway 12 and I-80 about three miles east and
Sonoma County is west of American Canyon.
Community events include the 4th of July Parade,
Celebration and Fireworks, the American Canyon 5K and 10K Run, Art Studio
Tours and Friday Nights at the Plaza. The city features a Recreation Center
at 2185 Elliott Drive, local bus transportation through American Canyon
Transit (ACT), an Aquatics Center with a beautiful swimming pool and a skate
park at 100 Benton Way, playgrounds, ball fields and parks.
American Canyon is growing and advertises that is seeks businesses that
provide services for enhancement of the quality of life in the growing
community. American Canyon is ideally located near dozens of
wineries and Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo. It's rapidly becoming a
Mecca for Silicon Valley refugees who have discovered they can operate
technology enterprises from this more peaceful place a bit closer to

American Canyon, one of
