Aliso Beach playground equipment shown
in the photo above shows swings, slides and a pirate ship, plus some unique,
fun climbing and riding toys. Popular with locals and tourists taking their
kids on vacation and staying at dozens of nearby hotels, the beach is
a short distance down coast from The Montage Resort and up coast from Aliso
Creek Inn and its 9 hole golf course. Incredible Treasure Island Park,
home to three tidepool areas and scattered beach coves, is located on the
beaches below the hilltop Montage.
Perhaps one of the most popular local
beaches in Laguna Beach garners attention and use for several reasons. This
kid friendly beach does not include steep steps and ramps to climb up and
down like most of Laguna Beach's 20+ beaches. An easy-to-access parking lot
with great public restrooms and pay parking spaces is next to a fairly flat
sand beach that sits near the mouth of the Aliso Creek. Not only is
this one of the best beach for young kids in strollers, but also great for
wheelchair accessible beach enjoyment.
In a swift-moving portion of Pacific
Coast Highway that includes twists and turns, plus some elevation and
descent, you come upon the entrance to Aliso Beach without much notice and
much be prepared to turn. Some of the north and south cues for the beach
entrance include the
Aliso Creek
Inn turn off at Country Club Road from the south and Wesley Drive from
the north. Aliso Beach is between these two.
When you take the children to this kids
beach with its fantastic playground, be sure to heed warnings about water
safety. Tiny tots can have a grand time, but you should keep an eye on their
safety.
