Seal Beach
Lions Club Fish Fry annual event as Seal Beach Pier "seals the deal"
for honest-to-goodness cooking that will have you licking your
fingers. July 18 & 19, 2009 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eisenhower Park, Seal Beach
Pier, Seal Beach, CA
Everyone knows that when July
comes around that can only mean one thing. The 4th of July, right?
Nope! In Seal Beach the big event in town is the annual Seal Beach
Lions Club Fish Fry, over 60 years strong, and growing.
In recent years the annual
fish fry has continued to grow, and has featured many bands, lots of
food sold, and a drawing for a car that has been used as a
fundraiser.
Seal Beach Lions 64th Annual Fish Fry in 2008 was a two-day
event chaired by Bill Howes and Co-Chair Jackie Maloney. They did a
great job, by the way, along with the held of many Lions members
such as Scott Newman.
The bands that performed at previous fish fries have included Nicky
and the Glow Worms, Dave Dylan and the Buffalo Chips, Avalon
Highway, Monkeys with Fire, The Blame, Underhanded, Dave Dylan and
Friends, Joe Schmoe and Deep Cover.
The event is open to the
public, with proceeds for sale of food used for Lions special
projects. This fundraiser is one of the biggest events of the annual
calendar, and public attendance is exceptional. sealbeachlions.com
Other fantastic summer events
include
Seal Beach summer concerts at Eisenhower Park.
