San Diego Events Are Happening ALL
the Time!
San Diego, Calif.--
While some newspapers and
magazines in San Diego do a pretty good job of listing a variety of
events throughout the year, our site (BeachCalifornia.com) receives
event submissions from some of the bigger events held in the city
and in San Diego County. We have discovered that San Diego is
probably the most event-driven city on the California coast.
Due to its unique climate
(warmest, most pleasant atmosphere year-round), and its location
just across the border from Mexico, the food events hold strong
showing, as do any events that include music, cocktails, sports, or,
well, just about anything at all.
San Diego is a party place, to
be sure. But there are family events, pet events, people events,
food, concerts, holiday celebrations and ethnic events. Add to
the mix some fantastic venues filled with grace, art, culture and
history, and you have the ideal location for celebrating. As we said
before, it is not our goal to post all San Diego events (an
impossible task). What we seek to do is highlight, showcase and help
promote causes that are sent our way that help make life a better
place.
Some are annual events and
some are unique, one-time events that have been listed on our
calendar are shown below. Note that the prices and locations
posted were from a specific calendar listing, and don't necessarily
offer the updated ranges that exist for this event's upcoming dates.
Also, some causes exist, then disappear as a goal is accomplished
such as raising awareness about a specific issue in a fundraiser.
Some huge events such as the Cinco de Mayo at Gaslamp Quarter is one
example of a popular sell-out that simply was held, then not hosted
the following year, even though the attendance was monstrous.

celebrates the cultural heritage of one of San Diego's unique
neighborhoods, a 56-square block area within the city. Event is

Surf
Dog Surf-a-thon. This event was hosted in 2008 at the
beaches of Del Mar. Use the web site listed as your guide for future
dates for this and other animal-oriented events. Watch dogs compete in surfing, costume
contest and other great fun at Del Mar's Dog Beach. Raise money
for the number of waves your dog or you catch. Time: 8:30 a.m. -

Taste of Downtown San Diego
is a food feast one evening in various locations ranging from Little
Italy to Gaslamp Quarter. Over 50 restaurants participate in the
food sampling that costs around $35 - 50 (seems to go up in price
each year).

Street Scene is a two night
music festival on the streets of San Diego. Various music concerts
have been hosted in Gaslamp Quarter and other party-oriented
locations in San Diego. This event, likewise, surrounds Petco Park
in downtown San Diego. Groups featured have included Beck, the Black
Crowes, and world class acts.

Poway Train Song Festival. Musical
entertainment, train rides, train robbery re-enactments, train model
