Pasadena's Rose Bowl is more
than just a place to watch a ball game. Most the year it hosts
events that range festivals to the famed Flea Market, one of the
biggest, brightest and most esteemed flea markets in the U.S.
This event is the shopping mart of the stars, some say. Among
the celebrities spotted at this event are Madonna, Gwen Stefani,
Ashley Olsen. Cher, Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Rob
Schneider, George Hamilton, and Maria Shriver, to name a few.
With more than 2,500
vendor booths selling everything from quality antiques to the
latest clothing styles, you'll be amazed at the quality of
items, and the A-list of people attending this shopping spree.
While you are welcome to
come in your blue jeans and flip flops, the shopping just
doesn't get much better. Add to that Pasadena's fabulous weather
and the lovely outdoor setting, and you'll find that Rose Bowl
Flea Market is addictive. Thankfully there are 6 event dates
throughout the summer months so if you miss one, you'll have
more shopping ops.
Collectors to novice
shoppers attending this event held the second Sunday of the
month are amazed how it seems to just get better, even after
nearly 40 years of growth. Proud of its merchants and
their wares, the event planner, R.G. Canning Attractions,
assures visitors to the the shopping extravaganza that they'll
discover the massive inventory far exceeds the traditional
swap-meets and garage sales.
Some vendors own
traditional brick-and-mortar stores, but participate in this
event because it's one of the best. New and original merchandise
is brought in continuously every month in the same way stores
receive new inventory on their shelves and racks. In flea
market fashion, Rose Bowl vendors begin setting up their tents
and booths before sunrise, and you, the buyer, can pay more to
get in early and avoid the massive crowds that pour in when the
gates open around 9 a.m.
