Huntington Beach California features not one, not two, but three summer concert series events.  From Surfing Sundays in downtown Huntington Beach's International Surfing Museum parking lot, to the City of Huntington Beach sponsored Pier Plaza concerts on Sunday afternoons at 1 p.m., to Central Park lawns for the Huntington Beach City Band concert series with mostly jazz orchestras at 5 p.m. on Sundays, you'd think this beach city likes music. And indeed, it does.

Featured at a Central Park concert was Tom Kubis and the Golden West Jazz Band, with many musicians coming from Huntington Beach, and having performed with jazz musician greats. In addition, the Kubis family is musically gifted. Two Kubis brothers and Tom's daughter all performed at a Central Park concert.
