Oxnard, Calif.-- Santa
Claus Statue sat atop a rooftop on Santa Claus Lane for
many years. But some Grinch came along and stole
Christmas. Bah, Humbug!
In
reality, the once dated roadside Carpinteria Highway 101 stop
at Santa
Claus Lane that many enjoyed for decades saw declining traffic,
even though Santa gleefully smiled at the passers-by all
year long. It was time for Santa to go so new
shops and themes could be created. Santa was going to be
demolished but in Santa's final hour, a group of
citizens down the road in Oxnard cried, "You can't kill
Santa."
They
raised the money to put a fresh coat of paint on this
landmark that's adjacent to the northbound traffic on
Highway 101 in Oxnard. Thanks to the good hearts and
kind deeds of a passionate group of citizens, Santa is
alive and well on the 101 in Oxnard. Merry Christmas!
